Let’s face it when you think shimmery make-up it is easy to recall the glam 70’s or perhaps we think it is an absolute not to wear shimmer for fear of looking tacky! The truth is, however, that a little shimmer in the right places can be chic and elegant, bringing light to all the right places.
Here are 3 sophisticated ways to wear shimmery make-up.
First: On your cupids bow – Applying a dab of gold highlighter like Nars hot sand illuminator http://www.narscosmetics.com/USA/hot-sand-illuminator/0607845023449.html is a way to subtly enhance your lips and ad dimension to nude lips ……this can be especially helpful for those of us who just swipe on lip gloss on the run.
Second: Shimmer Accents around the eyes – wearing eye shadow with a little soft, reflective pearl or shimmer is very pretty on the eye, at any age. The use of fine white shimmer around the eyes in the bottom lid and lower lash line accentuate the eyes without being to harsh. Peach, white and golds work best with almost any skin/eye combinations.
Third: If you desire to be a goddess and take the smoky eye to the next level, apply shimmer on the center of the eyelid for an iridescent look that makes them look twice! The look can be achieved by lightly applying a silver/white shimmer to the center of the lid (sometimes I spray my brush with distilled water).
This quick tutorial with Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette shows you how to do just that but really the look can be achieved with any shadow palette.
